Community Drumming Day

Meet other humans and bang things in a relaxed but organised manner!

Beginners & Dabblers Welcome. No experience necessary.

Facilitator Bradfield Dumpleton is an arts educator with a central focus on well-being through creative exploration. He has been providing creative learning experiences to children and adults for over 30 years, using visual arts and music as vehicles for developing mindful attention, self-reflection, and renewed creative confidence.

Bradfield has been playing percussion since the 90s, and has led many community drumming groups in Tasmania, including (from 2007 – 2010) the Cygnet-based groups Rhythm Collision & The Drummin’ Mummas. Bradfield also provided a specialist Yr 7 - 10 percussion program at Tarremah Steiner School from 2009 - 2011, and has run drumming programs for young refugees, marginalised youth and students with social anxiety and other special needs.

Bradfield creates a relaxed, inspiring learning atmosphere in which everyone can feel comfortable & included, as he guides the group through some of the building blocks of rhythm. You will learn simple drumming patterns and some interesting ways to put them together. Drumming in a group is a great way to feel connected and supported, it's fantastic for brain health and coordination, energising the body and focusing the mind. Bradfield's approach combines structured learning with spontaneous exploration, so that every workshop has something new to offer. Soul-warming and fun!

Drums provided. $65 p/p
